Sensoft

Product History

Nowadays many goods travel a countless number of kilometres to get to purchasers. Large part of goods needs special transport conditions: without shocks, at a definite temperature, at appropriate lighting, humidity, and even pressure. With a view of ability to control transport conditions by the suppliers of transport services and producers of goods, we have created SenSoft. This product is a result of our developmental work. We developed the device in 2013 in cooperation with the University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz. It helps measure conditions in which products that are sensitive to changes in temperature or moisture level, such as e.g. food or vaccines, are transported.

About product

SenSoft is an electronic sensor for studying parameters of transport of goods and people. The sensor is multi-indicator
intended for multiple use. This is unique solution on the market. Our device enables examination of transport conditions using
one device with a given configuration of factors – the device may be adapted to the needs of a particular customer. The factors
possible for testing include: temperature, pressure, humidity, whether the packaging was subjected to overloads, e.g. by rapid
braking or throwing packaging at reloading. The latter functionality also enables the use of SenSoft in control of passenger
transport quality or the way of use of the rented car. It is also possible to control conditions throughout the transport duration, i.e.
the sensor registers given indicators from the moment of starting the journey to the end, and also to read he data from the device from a distance at a given moment of a journey. The method of measurement also allows for analysis of data over a long period of time, i.e. comparison of conditions of transport of successive batches of goods or passengers, which allows eliminating
undesirable events or change the way of transport or the transport company. The device is equipped in a module of wireless
communications (two technologies were applied – bluetooth and transmission in the band 2.4GHz), which enables reading data
from the device in a given moment, with each portable device with installed software dedicated for our sensor.

Receivers

The target markets of project subject internationalization are the markets: German, French, Scandinavian (Denmark, Sweden,
Norway, Finland). These regions are highly developed and have high technological culture, which will facilitate the
implementation of the project subject on those markets. In those countries there is a wide market of food producers and car
rental companies, which gives a large market or potential customers of our company. The fact of geographic closeness, which will enable reduction of the amount of necessary agencies and potential business partners in the first period of internationalization, is also of some importance.
The initially planned business models of the activity on international markets are the sale of finished products directly or distribution on the principles of renting of the equipment.
These models allow for better control over the distribution of the product and over customer service quality. The first one is designed for customers opting for purchasing the product and who know their needs in this regard, which do not undergo too large fluctuations. Loan model is designed for customers with an indefinite demand that is highly variable in time and the possessing a large amount of our equipment in store is economically unjustified.

Market and Competition

SenSoft sensor is intended for companies from the food industry (especially enterprises producing frozen food), pharmaceutical industry, as well as companies engaged in the carriage of passengers and car renting.

In Poland, there are over 200 pharmaceutical companies and nearly 14 thousands companies involved in the food production.
Currently, most of the types of devices available on the market are equipped with a disposable chemical sensors. Every time you need, then, the new sensor.
If there are several factors relevant to the carriage of the product, the number of such sensors is increased because each of them can measure only one parameter, and the reading result is possible only directly. Our product fills this gap – allows current data reading without the knowledge of the transport company.

SWOT Analysis

Strong points
-Small sizes of the device, which facilitate its various applications, —
-Possibility of multiple use – the product i san electronic
device of multiple use, which is its unquestionable advantage, —
-Ability to configuration for an individual customer – each device
is configured according to the needs of a particular customer.

Weak points.
-Limited time of action – the device is equipped with a long life battery (from 0.5 to 1 year), but due to the extreme working
conditions (e.g. the effect of low temperatures) its life is shortened and the moment of its discharge is difficult to predict. ––
-The
source of supply for a single use –discharge of a battery causes the need for its replacing with a new one.
Chances
-Lack of competition – at the moment there are no devices on the market with such range of functionality, –
– High technological
culture in the chosen countries – high technology culture in particular countries will facilitate introduction of our product on the
marked out markets.

Threats
— Appearance of a competitive device of this type – making similar devices will result in starting competition, and this will limit
the chances for expansion of the device and reduce the pools of potential customers, –
– Economic crisis occurring in the countries
where the product will be introduced, which may result in limited willingness of companies to invest. –
– Uncertain situation on the
international market – crisis in Greece causes that it is difficult to predict in which direction the global economy will go.

Funding for SoftBlue

In 22nd December 2015 SoftBlue received funding from the program Go Global in the amount of 130 thousand PLN. Derived from the National Center for Research and Development funds will be used, among others, on creating and verification of the strategy of entering the foreign markets by  sensor SenSoft. The program is an opportunity to go out of the product beyond the domestic market to a much greater extent than would it be possible without this funding. Ultimately SenSoft is to hit German, French, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish markets.
